Although most daisies are once a year, there are some outstanding perennial ones too. Read on to know some of the great perennial plant daisies that are good cut flowers.
Bigleaf goldenray
Bigleaf goldenray or also called as bigleaf liguria. This plant is a part of daisy family, even though this is not the best perennial plant but they make a good cut flower. One of the characteristic of this daisy is its orange blossom during summer months. The stems could reach up to 4 ft in height.
They need a lot of shade in warm climates and they should be well-watered most of the times. They are more likely to wilt often especially if allowed to. This perennial daisy can also be grown from its seeds. The seeds are ideal to be planted during outdoors during fall season. This is important so that they will germinate during cold season respectively.
Coreopsis
Coreopsis or typically known as tickseed. They are outstanding daisy-type bouquets for summer. There is also annual coreopsis if you wanted to choose. Basically, the name coreopsis means dried seed head, which look like a bug. They are also considered as native plants that grow in various areas of the country.
The taller types of coreopsis are ideal for cut flowers. They can reach up to 1 to 3 ft in height and their blossom can be 2 to 3 inches across. Usually, they have yellow petals as well as yellow centers. On the other hand, cultivars or other color like bicolor are also available too. They can also grown from seeds, but some can be propagated vegetative hence they will not come from seed. The stems of Coreopsis have a vase life that could last for 7 to 10 days if appropriately preserved.
